Objetivos

General:

Develop an additivated plastic container capable of adsorbing ethylene, with a commercially acceptable color, and that it increases fruits’ shelf life significantly regarding the containers.

Specific objectives:

1. Development of an ethylene adsorption system with Metal-Organic Framework (MOFs) materials.
2. Development of an ethylene adsorption system by means of ionized Zeolites.
3. Development of a reliable method for measuring the adsorption capacity of developed containers.
4. Development of an ethylene degradation system fixed in the containers, that will increase their adsorption capacity.
5. Development of new applications to improve the shelf life of fruit stored in bulk, before its packaging.
