Aspartic acid

Like other amino acids, it falls in the group of important proteins for cells. Aspartic acid is the precursor in three important routes used by plants in situations of stress. In a first route, aspartic acid acts as a precursor to asparagine, amino acid transporter and nitrogen storage. A second route would be the synthesis of NAD + (nicotinamide dinucleotide and adenine), a nucleotide that plays an important role in the plant’s redox system. And in a third route, aspartic acid acts as a precursor for other amino acids: lysine, methionine, threonine or isoleucine.
